Retrieving Past Blogs. I Wonder if it's a Me Problem?
For anyone who have multiple personal blogs, do you have any past blogs that you may have abandoned?
If so, do you sometimes itching to log back in and see what is it like? And that is assuming if you remember your past login details for it.
My Case
Earlier today, I had an itch to revisit, or rather, relog into my past blogs that I no longer used. I remember I had used Blogger back in 2010 before moving to Google Sties 3 years later. And I abandoned Google Sites in 2015-ish, burnt out is the reason if I remember correctly.
Retrieving My Own Blog
For Blogger one, since it's a Google product, I thought I would use my main personal gmail account for it. Then I realised, it wasn't there when I access via blogger's site. Tried accessing the blogspot url directly (because I still remember it), it's still there. That makes me think what is going on... What email provider did I use for Blogger. Then I did some research and apparently you can find out what email you use via blogger's forgotten thingy link. Then it showed a gmail account and a Microsoft account, not the full (semi-reducted) email address.. Tried logging into Microsoft account, nothing was sent there. Gmail account? I don't remember at all. I remember at the time, I had multiple gmail accounts but as far as I can remember, I always used my main gmail account for google related things. YouTube, Drive, Google Sites, you name it.
I might try to mess around and see if I can recover any old gmail account and see if they had access to Blogger. I already recovered one but that had nothing in it
For Google Sites, it longer exist cause Google Sites made an update in 2016 and not exactly sure when but it started to require your Classic Google sites to migrate to the new one by 2021 and I did not do that in time. My old site are now kept in Google Drive, well... a handful of it. And by handful of it, just the contact us form remains. And I know it associated with my main gmail, because any edits I made back in the day, are sent to my gmail so I know it's fine and dandy.
I think it was to deprecate Google Plus? I don't exactly remember.
Conclusion? Maybe? Future? IDK.
I guess I should let the past be in the past. I know I did say I might mess around and try recover my past gmail accounts, it's highly unlikely I will do that. It's Google. I already had 2 gmail accounts (1 for personal and 1 for YouTube) that I regularly use and that is enough. IDK if I want to spend energy and effort just to retrieve old Blogger site, it's been 13/14 years since I touched anything on that specific blog.
Even then, I started to shift away from Gmail. Well, personal one that is. I still do YouTube as a side hobby so that associated gmail account isn't going away anytime soon. Everything else except banks (some banks don't play well with non-Mainstream emails) and gaming stuff (that would go to my gaming gmail account) are on Tuta.
