Neocities is Definitely Something
Some time towards the end of last month, I finally tried Neocities. Basically to see what's cooking over there.
I've heard of Neocities for long awhile. Way before I made Bearblog, like back in 2016/2017? Didn't really look too much into it, aside from knowing that it was an alternative (more of an Archive initially from what I've read1) to Geocities from way back when. Neocities came back into my mind after testing out Tinypost 1 month and a bit ago. While I do love the idea of building your site from the ground up, it can be intimating to people who trying to jump from being an amateur in CSS/HTML to a slightly more decent at CSS/HTML. Almost scares me off when I first made my account over there. Haha.
And I can definitely see why some people might be feeling tired/burnt out of putting <div> or <p> literally everywhere. Either way, Neocities (and to some extend, Nekoweb2) is a good learning curve if you want to test your CSS/HTML skills.
But for now, I'll keep my Neocities account up and I might keep going back there to horn my skills in the future.
